Press Release - Change Of Date For Alexandra Palace

London, 26th April 2010  

Following another successful Antiques, Art Deco, 20th Century & Collectors Fair at Alexandra Palace on Sunday 25th April, Peter Barrows, Chairman of Nelson Events Ltd, the organising company, announced that the November fair, originally planned for the 28th, has been brought forward by two weeks to Sunday 14th.

He stated "At the request of the Alexandra Palace management, to avoid access, unloading and break down issues in relation to other site activities, we have agreed to bring the date forward." He continued "We appreciate that this will be inconvenient to some of our loyal dealers, however, we have not taken this decision lightly.  One of our top priorities is to ensure that the dealer experience is as smooth and rewarding as possible.  This would not have been achievable if we stayed with the 28th".

Despite clashing with the London Marathon and having reduced numbers of international visitors, due to the recent flight issues, more dealers than normal reported a good fair and rebookings for the next event, on September 19th, were up by 20%

Starting in 1999 with the Gresham's Aniques & Art Fair in Holt, Norfolk, Nelson Events Ltd has grown to become one of the major antiques, collectables, 20th century and art deco fair organisers in the UK.

In 2004, Nelson Events took over the management of the Newmarket Antiques, Collectables & 20th Century Fair at Newmarket Racecourse, Rowley Mile. This has now been built up to one of the largest events in the Suffolk/Cambridge region, being regularly oversubscribed by eager dealers. In 2010, due to dealer demand, Nelson Events is adding a fifth date to the line up.

In 2007 Nelson Events were asked to restart one of the UK's premier antiques & collectables event at Alexandra Palace, North London. From their first fair in April 2008, they have been steadily rebuilding this event to similar proportions of it's heyday, several years ago.

2010 saw the launch of the Warwickshire Antiques, Collectables, 20th Century and Art Deco Fair, at the WEC, Leamington Spa. With four dates and over 200 stalls/outside pitches, it is planned that this will become the regions major fair within the year.
